Grosso Announces Details of Chancellor Nomination Public Roundtables

Councilmember David Grosso announces the scheduling of a series of public roundtables of the Committee on Education on the nomination of Antwan Wilson to serve as the Chancellor of DC Public Schools.

We are pleased to welcome a representative from the Mayor's office to speak to the nominee's qualifications at the Nov. 30 and Dec. 5 roundtable and look forward to hearing from the nominee himself at the Dec. 8 roundtable.

  • Wednesday, November 30, 2016 - 5:00pm - Brookland Middle School - 1150 Michigan Ave NE
  • Monday, December 5, 2016 - 5:00pm - Benning Neighborhood Library - 3935 Benning Road NE
  • Thursday, December 8, 2016 - 10:00am - John A. Wilson Building - 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue NW

Those who wish to testify may sign-up online at http://bit.do/educationhearings. The witness list will close for each roundtable 24-hours prior to the start of the roundtable. Persons wishing to testify are encouraged, but not required, to submit 10 copies of written testimony.  Witnesses appearing on his or her own behalf should limit their testimony to three minutes; witnesses representing organizations should limit their testimony to five minutes (unless there are multiple people representing the same organization). 

If you are unable to testify at the hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record.  Written statements can be submitted to the Committee via email to jgiles@dccouncil.us or mailed to the following address: Committee on Education, Council of the District of Columbia, Suite 116 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004.  The record will close at 5:00 p.m. on December 12, 2016.
