For Emancipation Day 2015, Councilmember David Grosso sent a letter of greetings to the Pearl Coalition thanking them for their Emancipation Day activities and the efforts to honor the history of the "Pearl"--a schooner chartered by African Americans to help escaped slaves in 1848.
